The Caledonian Challenge website (or web system as it should be more accurately referred to) has been a labour of love since late 2008 when Heehaw were commissioned to bring life to the brainchild of the Scottish Community Foundation (SCF).
Their objectives were simple yet ambitious: redesign their current charity event (a 54 mile walk in 24 hours, the walk of your life) web site; develop a bespoke database and core system to provide engaging and useful tools for team members; and create an intuitive backend office system for managing all of this powerful data.
Our web producers and developers worked closely with SCF through a rigorous planning and design stage and tailored every aspect of the system to meet their exact requirements. The project was both challenging and extremely rewarding (as all good projects are) and gave Heehaw the opportunity to flex their technological muscles along with their creative ones.
The outcome for SCF has been a flexible and powerful web system that can be deployed across numerous sites, covering a variety of charity events, yet all controlled and managed through a singular backend system. Heehaw continue to maintain and develop the system and are truly excited by its potential and the driving vision of SCF.
