The
Home Front: Scotland in WWII
'FANTASTIC.... I'm off to enthuse to my colleagues'
Tim Laver, Bishopbriggs High School
This CD-ROM is a captivating exploration
of life in Scotland during the Second World War, featuring
the experiences of nine Scots who lived through it and
contributed in various ways. Ask an evacuee about his
experience of the Clydebank Blitz or a member of the
Women's Land Army about life on a farm, and hear from
others about rationing, gas masks, the 'total war',
POWs, VE Day and much more. The pupils can choose from
a large range of questions which will trigger video
clips of our interviewees telling their fascinating
stories.
Meeting your Requirements
The content is based on local authority topic grids for teaching The Home Front, and in developing the title we have taken into account the comments and advice received from teachers on our previous products to ensure that the product meets teachers' requirements as closely as possible.
Invaluable New Feature: Teachers' Support Disc
In addition to the useful spiral-bound Teachers' Support Pack, a Teachers' Support
Disc is included with The Home Front: Scotland in World
War II. This disc contains all of the separate text, image, sound and video
files used in
the CD-ROM and is, we are told, an invaluable extra as
it allows teachers to create their own lesson plans.
(All CD-ROMs work on both Windows PC and Apple MacOS 9 and above)
