Heehaw launches scripted genre indie

Introducing Nickie-Ben, a brand new Scottish entertainment company

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re delighted to finally launch our second sister company. Much in the same way that Cloud Break serves as a platform for developing and launching factual content, Nickie-Ben has been created to facilitate our move into scripted feature film and TV. Spring-boarding off recent experience in producing two feature films for Reel One Entertainment, Nickie-Ben is designed to develop and nurture IP with a solidly commercial outlook whilst championing Scottish talent.

LURE - Our debut project

Our first project is a feature titled LURE. The team have produced a proof of concept short which has recently entered the festival circuit, securing screenings as part of the official selections of both Nightmares and FilmQuest in the US, a core target market. The film acts as a flag in the sand for the kind of quality you can expect from the label, and provides a useful tool for approaching financiers and potential sales and distribution partners.

Building on experience.

Our progression into scripted entertainment comes as a natural development of our commercial and service producer work. Larger commercial production has provided the experience required for running sets with increased technical needs and crews, and the feature work that followed gave us the workflow and organisational experience for sustaining those production complexities over time.

The team of collaborators we have built around us, backed by the incredible production, post and marketing talent at Heehaw, means we are in a unique position to develop, produce and market Scottish IP whilst building a commercially viable imprint in it’s own right.
